Health and Safety Policy Statement

Waddson’s Painting Contractors Ltd take the health and safety of our operatives and other members of the site team extremely seriously, that’s why we hold the following insurance:

Public and Product Liability insurance up to £2 million

Our track record is amongst the best in the industry having been incident and accident free for many years. Our Health & Safety advisor is actively involved in the health and safety of our operatives on-site.

Our Health and Safety procedures are actively promoted throughout the company to ensure all parts of the team play their part.

Each and every project is assessed before commencing works, so that individual and specific method statements, risk assessments and COSHH assessments can be developed and delivered to the workforce on site through a site specific induction prior to starting on site.

Our Health and Safety is overseen by an external team. Our team is then supervised by a supervisor with all operatives having a minimum of CSCS card qualification. Through the implementation of our training matrix, to ensure that each and every project can be catered for in a safe manner.

In addition we operate an in-house Health and Safety policy produced and managed by a specialist company with years of experience in the Construction Industry. This ensures we remain up-to-date with current legislation.

Our management team ensure that our workforce comply with current Health and Safety legislation. Health and Safety at Work legislation imposes a statutory duty on employers to ensure the health and safety of their employees whilst at work. This also extends to others who may be affected by that work.

To enable these duties to be carried out, we ensure that all health and safety matters are effectively assigned and fulfilled at all levels within our organisational structure.

A Site Supervisor on site at all times.

  1. Is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of its employees, so far as is practicable. The company will also accept responsibility for other persons who may be affected by the companies’ activities and will take steps to ensure that its statutory duties are met at all times. The company will provide its employees with such information, instructions and training as is necessary to enable the safe performance of work activities.
  2. Accepts that it is the duty of the management to ensure that all processes and systems of work are designed to take into account of health and safety and are properly supervised at all times.
  3. Accepts that the responsibility for health and safety is vested with company senior management. However, the authority to ensure compliance with legislation and policies is devolved to line management.
  4. Will maintain adequate Facilities and arrangements to enable employees to raise issues of health and safety.
  5. Will appoint competent people to assist in meeting the company’s statutory duties.
  6. Expects all members of staff to cooperate with the company to enable all statutory duties to be complied with. Each individual having a legal obligation to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and for the safety of others that may be affected by their acts or omissions.
  7. Will set out full details of the organization and arrangements for health and safety in separate documents, located within the company’s policy and procedures manual.
  8. Will regularly monitor the health and safety policy to ensure that the objectives are achieved. The policy will be reviewed and if necessary, revised in the light of legislative or organizational changes.
